Why is it important to keep CPR life-saving skills top-of-mind?

Research has shown that CPR skill retention declines within a few months of initial training – and continues to decline as time goes by. Moreover, less than half of first aiders pass a skills test a year after training due to not practicing frequently. This is why LifeLiners recommends the annual BLS/CPR/AED refresher course, to hone your skills when you’ve become a little rusty.

Having gained valuable skills during your initial certification, the annual BLS/CPR/AED refresher course will serve as a good refresher to maintain routine, quality and continuity in your CPR skills. It gives you the opportunity to exercise and further master your practical skills, making you more confident and increasingly professional in saving someone’s life.

Learning goals

Mastering and perfecting the theoretical and practical resuscitation skills needed to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Operating a semi-Automated External Defibrillator – AED

Course content

  • Knowledge quiz
  • Demonstration of CPR in adults, children and infants according to the current 2021 ERC guidelines
  • Exercises in small groups of 2 delegates

l Requirements:
  • minimum of 12 years
  • first aiders holding a current 3-year validity BLS/CPR/AED diploma
  • released from work by supervisor in order to enable uninterrupted participation to course days

Luxembourg accreditation issued by Ministry for Internal Affairs ( Ministère de l’Intérieur )

Trainer:

 Certified first aid instructor trained and nominated by the INFS

Certificate:

Participants receive a certificate of attendance issued by LifeLiners. To do so, they must have taken part  in the full refresher course. Their presence must be confirmed by the course instructor and a valid signature of the delegate in the participant’s list. If these conditions are not met, no certificate will be issued.

This course is not a substitution nor renew of the 3-year, 4-hour BLS/CPR/AED training.
